Flat Broke!

We took both pets in Friday for their shots and yearly stuff.
Breakdown:

Bailey -
Fecal - $20.00
Heartworm Panel $49.00
Geriatric Screening - 72.00
Drop off fee - $8.40
(which we weren't suppose to get charged for because the vet was not there)
Soft Food - $24.36
Hard Food - $82.22 (Holy Crap...I need to check that out)
Heartworm tablets $76.00
Frontline - $89.18
Expressed Anal Glands $22.00

Total for Bailey $443.16

* * * * *
Simba -
6 Glucose readings at $19.00 each (and we even take our own insulin and syringes)
Hospitalization - $31.50
Frontline - $76.23
THEN they didn't even give him is vaccinations and were ready to send him home
Rabies - $25.00
Feline Virus - $24.00
Total for Simba - $271.00

My checkbook is on "E" and I am sobbing because this all came due at once!
However...Baileys levels that have been so high went down about 400 points and as long as her liver levels stay in the normal range...that is good! :o) Some good news out of the whole situation.

Mom says, "I hear ya!" She has started buying our flea/tick preventative 6 months from our yearly vet bill just so she doesn't have vet, heartworm preventative, and flea/tick all come at once.
