Update - 2 Years Later

Wow! We cannot believe that we have not updated the page in over TWO years. How shameful of us. Here is what has been going on since the beginning of 2011.

Bailey turned 15 years old in February!! As of this writing, she is doing ok, but we do see her backend getting weaker and weaker and getting up and down is taking longer and longer. :( Her eyesite is not as great anymore, but she sure can catch a treat still if you flip one to her. It's so sad to see her aging like this, but as long as she is able to bounce around with us when we get home each day and we see a twinkle in her eye, we are happy with that.

In January (going backwards here) we added a new Furr-addition to our family. She came with the name of Aly (which neither of us were fond of). In the process of thinking of what name would fit her, we were still calling her Aly. Because she responded SO well to this, we decided to keep the name.

Bailey was not very happy on this new arrival. We could not get her to come anywhere near where the puppy was at that time. It broke my heart to see her acting that way. But, after three weeks, we literally saw her give in one day and come around to being her old self. They still aren't the best of friends (all Aly wants to do is play), but they get along now and Bailey puts her in place with her little low-gruff growls.

I'm hoping to update the page more now that it is getting nicer out and we venture out more. Hope everyone is enjoying some nice weather as we are.

Been A Long Time

Wow - It's been a long time since we have posted an entry on here. I feel really guilty for that. There were many times that I did try to start it, but then got pulled away. In one of my last posts on here, I had mentioned that we were looking to add another husky to our family. On January 15, 2011 - I saw a post on Facebook for 3 month old puppy that had to be rehomed because the puppy had sharp claws and teeth and the own wanted it GONE. Another lady had stepped in and took the puppy and posted the ad to find a home for her. Here are pictures of the puppy, Aly, that she posted.

We made plans to meet at a Petsmart about half an hour away. The minute my niece and I walked in there....all we could hear was this tiny husky making the loudest racket. And....the story goes....she ended up coming home with us!

That is our happy news. Now for the sad news.

On May 18, 2012 we had to say good-bye to Bailey, She lived to be 16 years old and we were grateful for every minute we got to share in her 14 years with us. It was so hard for us to say goodbye, but when she wasn't able to stand up on her own that day, we knew it was time. And, we could tell in her eyes that it was time to say our goodbyes. We miss you so much, Bailey!

Aly did not stay alone long. My niece had bought a husky puppy with her 'then' boyfriend and kept it at his house. Well...guess what happened?? They broke up in July and her puppy, Mya, came to live with us. Don't let her cuteness fool you...she's a little stinker!

So, there you have it. A lot has happened in these past years. Both 'puppies' are grown up with tons of stories and adventures to be told. I will look back in their picture files and share some stories from over the years....as well as new ones. Please make sure to 'follow' us to keep updated.
